What We Do

Assessment 

    • Factory assessments and audits are guided by standardised tools and guidelines, involving onsite /hybrid visits, document reviews, interviews, and workplace observations.
    • Development of factory improvement plans with clear timelines and actionable recommendations based on audit findings.
    • Peer-reviewed and quality-assured reports ensuring accuracy and consistency through a rigorous internal QA/QC process.
    • Independent investigations into alleged violations reported through grievance mechanisms or buyer hotlines, enabling timely intervention.
    • Monitoring and follow-up support to track remediation efforts to support ongoing compliance improvements.
    • Enhanced transparency mechanisms to help buyers and factories build credible and sustainable labour compliance systems.

Research

    • Conducts in-depth studies on social sustainability themes, including labour conditions, gender equity, community resilience, and inclusive governance.
    • Analyses social risks and impacts of business operations across supply chains to inform mitigation strategies and improve social outcomes.
    • Evaluates non-financial reporting frameworks, such as the GRI Social Standards, to assess their relevance and application for transparent environmental, social and governance disclosures.
    • Supports the adoption of global best practices in social performance reporting, enabling organisations to build stakeholder trust and accountability.
    • Collaborates with academic institutions, civil society, and policy actors to co-produce knowledge that informs social policy and programming.
    • Publishes policy briefs, reports, and case studies that translate research findings into actionable recommendations for practitioners and decision-makers.

Policy 

    • Supports in developing and updating the national and organisational policies that promote labour rights, diversity, gender equity, and social inclusion.
    • Facilitates policy dialogue between the private sector, civil society, and public institutions to ensure inclusive and participatory policy processes.
    • Advises on the integration of international frameworks, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, into organisational policies and strategies.
    • Helps clients navigate regulatory changes in social sustainability standards, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with global benchmarks.
    • Promotes internal corporate policies on human rights, stakeholder engagement, and social accountability to strengthen governance systems.
    • Develops policy briefs and guidance tools to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable steps for businesses and institutions.

Advocacy 

    • Organises seminars, forums, and policy dialogues to bring together stakeholders for peer learning and solution co-creation.
    • Amplifies grassroots issues by elevating worker and community perspectives to national and global platforms.
    • Engages in multi-stakeholder initiatives like SLCP and EDGE to influence industry standards and promote responsible business practices.
    • Advocates for gender equality and inclusion in labour governance through campaigns, tools, and capacity-building.
    • Develops position papers and evidence-based policy briefs that inform regulatory and corporate reforms.
    • Promotes the institutionalisation of worker voice mechanisms, including grievance systems and participatory compliance models.
    • Facilitates behavioural change by influencing social norms, corporate culture, and public perceptions around labour rights and social equity.

Training 

    • Tailored training programmes on Gender-based Violence (GBV) prevention, workplace communication, OSH, grievance, leadership, financial wages and literacy, reproductive health, CSRD, HREDD, CSDDD, GRDD and RBC- HRDD.
    • Factory-based coaching and mentoring for continuous learning and hands-on application of social compliance and gender strategies.
    • Virtual, on-site, and hybrid learning formats are adaptable to the needs of factories, brands, and stakeholders in regions such as Bangladesh, India, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
    • Flagship e-learning courses, including modules on ethical purchasing practices to align procurement behaviour with sustainability goals.
    • Training on international standards and frameworks, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and ILO conventions.
    • Peer learning platforms to facilitate cross-factory knowledge exchange and institutional development.

Implementation 

    • Co-development of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) with step-by-step timelines and facility ownership.
    • On-site and remote coaching for HR teams, supervisors, and compliance managers to support effective rollout.
    • Technical guidance on policy revision and systems strengthening – covering grievance mechanisms, disciplinary procedures, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), and documentation practices.
    • Integration of social compliance improvements into factory management systems for long-term accountability.
    • Facilitation of peer learning and joint problem-solving forums to foster cross-factory collaboration and sector-wide solutions.
    • Alignment with national frameworks and buyer requirements to ensure consistency with both regulatory and market expectations.
