What We Do
Research
- We conduct land-use analysis and climate risk mapping to identify urban vulnerabilities, assess infrastructure gaps and service delivery through gender and equity lenses, and integrate community needs using participatory methods and public space audits.
- We evaluate the socio-economic impacts of land use, transport, and green infrastructure practices, develop inclusive, climate-resilient urban design frameworks with partners, and translate global knowledge into scalable, nature-based local strategies.
Policy
- We develop climate-resilient zoning, land-use, and sustainable transport policies, align local frameworks with international standards and the SDGs through inclusive consultation, and support regulatory reforms and institutional strengthening to enable effective enforcement.
- We strengthen marginalised voices and promote social inclusion in urban planning, build multi-sector partnerships, raise public awareness of urban climate risks, and work to influence cultural norms and policies that drive local and regional transformation.
Action
- We provide capacity building in sustainable city planning, climate adaptation, and gender-sensitive urban design; teach participatory planning and institutionalise resilience in local governments; and include financing modules on green bonds, climate funds, and PPPs.
- We execute urban master plans featuring mixed-use zoning, green infrastructure, and accessible public spaces; establish monitoring systems and strengthen institutional capacity for regulation and maintenance; and facilitate public-private partnerships for participatory project delivery.
